Robert Pattinson aka Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has been cast as Edward in the Twilight movie.
I don’t think I like this whole movie/book role crossover. When I picture Edward I don’t picture Cedric Diggory.

Oh, absolutely not! I liked Cedric Diggory and he was good for that role, but not Edward Cullen. I just can’t possibly see it. Actually, how can mere mortals fill the roles of the entire Cullen clan? Maybe he’ll wow us with his ability to make the role his.
Hang on… why is Edward British?? Was he supposed to be? And I totally do NOT picture CD when I think of Edward!!
I can see him a whole lot better than I can the girl they cast for Bella. She’s BLONDE for goodness sakes! Of course, I never expect book/movie crossovers to get it right - they never do!
He does have the slightly patrician air I always imagined Edward with. And he was from Chicago, so this guy will have to learn an accent to totally get my approval.
I see it. I agree with Heather about having more of an issue with the girl cast as Bella. A blonde? She better be coloring her hair soon…
I too don’t know how how this movie will be able to capture the same intensity that the book carries, but I guess we’ll see.
Have you seen the t-shirts at Threadless? They have one that says “Movies: Ruining the book since 1920.” I may just have to go and order it for myself now. Or, I might go see Atonement first.
Well, we will never really be happy with whoever they cast as Edward, will we? Does a guy like that even exist? Having said that, I always thought he was kind of cute in The Goblet of Fire and think that he might fit the bill. I am just now reading Eclipse and can’t wait for the movie.
i agree, what the hell were they thinking! that cedric kid as EDWARD CULLEN!! ARE YOU INSANE!!! i admit i am kinda looking forward to this movie, but also scared that if i watch it… its gonna mess up the beautiful picture i have of Edward!!! Bella i could care less… i never liked her anyway!!!
I felt the same way at first..
he isn’t at all how i pictured, and i thought he would do a horrible job but if you look at the clips you may not be AS dissapointed… He doesn’t keep the accent.. so all is well.. and at least he can act! Its okay… i was upset too! But it will be a KICKASS MOVIE! I’m more concerned on who they picked as edward personnally.
I totally agree, when i saw the trailer i was like wooh.
the whole cullen family is like not like i imagined. except for alice maybe….
but esme is the girl who was on grey’s anatomy and alex liked…. i forgot the name.
anyways, i donnot like edward.
