Homage to My Hips
these hips are big hips.
they need space to
move around in.
they don’t fit into little
petty places. these hips
are free hips.
they don’t like to be held back.
these hips have never been enslaved,
they go where they want to go
they do what they want to do.
these hips are mighty hips.

Frustration

If I had a shiny gun,
I could have a world of fun
Speeding bullets through the brains
Of the folk who give me pains;

Or had I some poison gas,
I could make the moments pass
Bumping off a number of
People whom I do not love.

But I have no lethal weapon-
Thus does Fate our pleasure step on!

Shelves of Ratty Books
I dream of shelves of ratty books,
their covers tattered, torn and worn;
a multitude of waiting pages,

I was forced to memorize (name of poem) in school and…
In Flander’s [...]

(Yes, I know this is the 3rd SRC book I’ve posted about tonight but I’ve been almost done of this and Candyfreak for a few days so I just sat down and finished them tonight.)
I’m going to be honest. Poetry intimidates the hell out of me. It didn’t used to be that way. [...]

Oops…

I went for a walk tonight.
I did not intend to buy anything.
I thought maybe I’d go to a patio, have a beer. But the patios were full of loud people who had been there most of the day, many celebrating the World Cup. I just wasn’t in the mood for that.
So I stopped at the [...]
