I'm doing another A-Z this year but I haven't posted it yet.

Thanks for mentioning all the challenges on BlogHer!

Two short ones that would be great are The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. You could read that in a couple of hours. I read The Xanadu Adventure for my 'X' title. It's a kid's book written by Lloyd Alexander. It was an okay read, but definitely easier reading the 'X Stands for Unknown'. You can search by title or author in the sidebar at my site if you need more ideas.

I did an A-Z title AND author challenge (no repeats) this year that I will finish, but it'll be close. Look in the '07 tabs under challenges.

I've been reading your blog for awhile, but I think this is the first time I've commented.

Happy Holidays!

I hope Karen forgives me for firing a comment in response. (And I came here via Kate's Book Blog, by the by)....and this comment is about 18 months behind the original, but thee you are.

I adore fiction and yes I'm a 'technical writer' of sorts. To keep writing day in and day out is a discipline in itself and it makes the fiction all the more enjoyable when you don't deal with it all the time.

There you are...a response so late, nobody will probably ever read on a website I have only just visited. Perhaps I should return to my own scribblings!

This is good, some of these I want to read! Hmmm @ The Zahir. sassy, read this one and tell me what you think. I am not a huge fan of Coelho (the alchemist bored me) but I am interested in this book.

You have many options for 'O':
The Olive Farm by Carol Drinkwater
Our Culture, What's Left of It by Theodore Dalrymple
The Ornament of the World by Maria Rosa Menocal

For Q, all I could come up with is Quirky QWERTY: the Story of the Keyboard @ Your Fingertips by Torbjorn Lundmark. It actually wasn't the best book on earth, but at least it's 'Q'.

For Z, you could always feature the letter in a Sesame Street kind of way. There's World War Z by Max Brooks

Oh you're going to have fun. I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. I was tempted several times to ditch the plan just read the new book I heard about, but I was glad I stuck with it and made it through. Of course all those new books that come along while you're doing the A to Z thing will just calmly wait on your To Be Read list.
